KEEPING SAFE
COVID-19 GUIDANCETwo luxury holiday cottages in one of the most picturesque rural settings of the Peak District in the hamlet of Milldale, Alstonefield.
Important Information
Covid-19
We are delighted to be able to welcome guests back to the Milldale Cottage Company in the Peak District. The safety of out guests remains our highest priority so we have been working hard to welcome guests back safely and have made changes so they are able to have a relaxed and healthy Escape Back to the Great Outdoors.
The Government is only allowing businesses to re-open subject to certain conditions being met. We have been issued with protocols that outline new cleaning and safety requirements. These are to ensure your safety, and that of our staff and ourselves. It will however mean that things are slightly different from usual and we thank you in advance with your assistance.
Prior to arrival
~ We will contact all guests to enquire if anybody in the party is showing signs of or is concerned that they may have contracted Covid-19 infection. If so, guidance states that they should stay at home and not visit our cottages at The Milldale Cottage Company.
~ Cleaning will take extra time – because of the Covid-19 risk, we now have implemented a ‘double clean’ – first our usual high level cleaning and then an additional clean with a virucidal sanitiser. PPE will be used and of course changed between each process. This means that extra time will be needed for each changeover so arrival and departure times will now be 4pm arrival and 10am departure. We do understand that this may be inconvenient, but it is really important that extra time is allowed to ensure all of our guests’ safety. The housekeeping team has undertaken the required Infection Control & Cleaning Training Course.
On Arrival
~ Please park in the residents parking. The sanitised keys will be located in a lock box. The code will be communicated to you prior to your arrival. Unlock the door then the holiday can begin.
~ We will ensure that we come and introduce ourselves, socially distanced of course and at least 2 metres apart.
Stay
~ The cottage is supplied with additional sanitising hand wash, all the cleaning materials for use whilst at the cottage and a personal COVID Care pack to help when you are out for the day and in addition, our local producers Welcome Basket.
~ Some things may be missing – to reduce the risk of touch contamination, we have been advised to reduce the amount of items in the cottages. This means that decorative cushions, throws, ornaments, paper information leaflets and games have been kept to a minimum. Therefore some cashmere throws have been replaced with machine washable alternatives and some surplus kitchen equipment items may be reduced as it is required that all kitchen crockery is rewashed between guests.
~ Septic Tank (Riverside Cottage only) – Please do not use bleach in the sink as it will upset the septic tank. Eco-friendly cleaning materials are supplied for your use at the cottage together with antiseptic wipes for disinfecting surfaces without upsetting the water treatment system.
~ If you develop symptoms – we sincerely hope that you will have a happy and healthy holiday. However, should a member of your party develop symptoms, the Government advice is to:
~ Inform the accommodation provider.
~ Immediately self isolate at the property to minimise risk of transmission and request a test.
~ If confirmed to have COVID-19, guests should return home if they reasonably can. They should use private transport but only drive themselves if they can do so safely.
~ If a guest cannot reasonably return home (for example they are not well enough to travel or do not have the means to arrange transport), their circumstances should be discussed with an appropriate health care professional and if necessary, the local authority.
Departure
~ Please depart your property as near to 10am as possible to allow us enough time for our enhanced cleaning protocols.
~ Please strip your bed linen before leaving – not glamorous, on the last day we completely understand. However, as 7/10 people who have had the antibody test did not have any symptoms, the Government is advising we have to assume that someone in your party COULD be carrying the virus. The main route for contracting the virus is airborne, and it is considered that removing bedding could make the virus airborne, which is why they advise asking guests to strip the bed linen themselves. Please place in the laundry bags provided, located in your bedroom and separate the towels.
~ Waste and recycling bins please empty all the bins (including bathroom) tie the bags up and place in the external bins.
~ Please fill the dishwasher with a full load of crockery and cutlery and set it running before leaving (do not empty it). We are now required to re-wash everything between guests, so it would help hugely if you could put all plates, cutlery, cups etc in the dishwasher before leaving.
We do appreciate your support whilst we all get used to the ‘new normal’ and do hope that you will have a fabulous stay in the Peak District.
If you have any further questions about your stay please call Andrew 07816 889836 or Sarah 07816 889753.
Thank you.
